A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Co-cathedral in Thibodaux for J. Alvin Badeaux Sr., 93, a native and resident of Thibodaux, who died at 10:15 a.m. Dec. 27, 2000.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time at the church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.

He was the father of J. Alvin Jr., Thomas L. and Anthony Carroll Badeaux and Claire Elmore; and brother of Theresa Mae Fernandez. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grand-children.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Foret Badeaux; parents, Charles A. and Vivian Knoblock Badeaux; brothers, the Very Rev. Msgr. A. Carroll, Charles A. Jr. and J. Leslie Badeaux; and sisters, Margaret Hornsby, Vivian Bergeron, and M. Adeline Badeaux.
