Albert Ford "Junior" Carter Jr., 83 of Wade, Mississippi, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2012, in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
Mr. Carter was born April 12, 1929, in the Big Point community of Jackson County, Mississippi. He was a veteran who served his country in the United States Army. A shipfitter by trade for 25 years, he was best known as a good husband, father, and grandfather. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Caswell Springs United Methodist Church.
Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his parents; Albert Ford and Elma Gladys Carter, Sr.; his son, Howard "Sonny" Warbington; his daughter, Delmarie Carter Lillis, and his grandchildren; Carter Lillis and Sunni Danyell Lillis.
"Junior," as he was affectionately known by so many, is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Sara Elizabeth Carter of Wade; his grandson, Quinton (Christina) Lillis of Wade; his great grandchildren; Sunnie, Paisley, and Brady Lillis, all of Wade; his brother, Wilton (Susan) Carter of Wenotachee, Washington; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation for Mr. Carter will be held, Sunday, September 9, 2012, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, Mississippi. His funeral will be on Monday, September 10, 2012, at 10 a.m. from the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Revs. Ben Buckley, H. W. Parker, and Gene Emswiler officiating. Interment will follow at Johnson Cemetery in Wade.
