Casander Brock Eddy died from complications of childbirth just one week short of her 36th birthday, leaving her husband, Isaac, and four living children, Louisa, Harriet, Emma and John Wesley.

Isaac remarried three years later to her sister, Cynthia, who raised the children and gave them four half brothers, James, Willis, Isaac and Harper. James and Willis lived to adulthood, but Isaac and Harper died in infancy.
