Peggy Colleen Hutchison, 73, of Anacortes, returned to our Heavenly Father in the early morning hours of Saturday, September 1, 2012.

She was born on October 29, 1938, the daughter of William and Harriet (Lee) Hutchison.

Peggy was a colorful light in the lives of those she leaves behind. Her love of creativity led her to explore her own talents in sculpture and folk art and encourage talent in her family and friends. Peggy loved her family, art, literature, and the ocean.

Born in Dillon, Montana, Peggy grew up in the Pacific Northwest. Her life led her to many places but her heart always drew her back to Anacortes, Washington; a small town on Fidalgo Island in the Puget Sound.

Peggy is survived by her brother, William Hutchison; her children, Dawn Kane (John), Jill Salas (Stacey), Melanie Adams (Jim), Tracy Cummins (Bruce), Adam Foster (Mary) and Aaron Foster; 18 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3720 H Avenue in Anacortes, Washington.

Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., Anacortes, WA and the San Juan Islands.
