EDNA C. HANKE, 86, of Louisville, formerly of Cloverport, KY, died Wednesday, December 10, 2003, at Caritas Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elstan B. Hanke; a son, E. Paul Hanke; five brothers; and five sisters. She is survived by her sons, David (Dotty) Hanke of Charlestown, IN, and Larry ("Boo") Hanke; daughters, Wanda Shelley, Mary Dale (Arvon) Gue and Judy (Ronnie) Hutchins, all of Louisville, and Joyce (Calvin) Craig of McHenry, IL; a daughter- in-law, Carolyn Hanke of Bloomington, IN; a brother, Billy Pate of Paducah, KY; a sister, Lois Kraus of Tell City, IN; 15 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Denis Catholic Church, 4205 Cane Run Rd., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens-West. Visitation will be from noon-8 p.m. Friday at J.B. Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home-Southwest, 4832 Cane Run Rd. The family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Louisville or to Mass of the Air.
