Merchie Owens
Services for Merchie Cleveland Owens, age 71, of Latham, were held Friday, May 17, at 2:30 p.m. at the New Hope Baptist Church near Latham, where he was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery with Jackson Brothers Funeral Home of Dukedom in Charge.
Mr. Owens, a retired security guard for the Ferry Morse Seed Company of Fulton, died Wednesday, May 15, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He was the son of William Robert Owens and Allie Maude Vincent.
Surviving are his wife; Elberta Brundige Owens, two daughters; Sherry Owens Lochridge of Westland, Michigan, and Betty Owens Dietzman of Jackson, a son; James Owens of Fulton, a sister; Modean Owens Bennett of Mayfield, Kentucky, a brother; Gene Owens of Murray, Kentucky, and eight grandchildren.
