Mary Jane Johns was born about 1833 the daughter of Francis White Johnson (1799-1884) and Rosalia Lenora Carmena Montegudo (1805-1850). Francis Johnson played an important role in the Texas revolution against Mexico. He is buried in the Texas State Cemetery in Austin, TX

Mary Jane Johnson married 1st, James Boren (d1857) in 1852. They had four children Rhoda b. 1853, Francis b. 1854, Martha Ann b. 1855, and Rosellie b. abt 1857

She married 2nd Thomas Persons (d. 1863) in 1858. They had two children Betty Alma b. 1859 and Katherine b. 1862

She married 3rd William Teal (d. 1869) in 1864. They had one son, Herschel b. 1865

Mary Jane died in 1913 in Clinton, Oklahoma during a visit to her daughter, Martha
