John Wesley Little was born August 19, 1905 seven miles northwest of Cheyenne, Oklahoma Territory to Anna Christina and Willie Wesley Little. He passed away August 15, 2000 in the Cheyenne Care Center at the age of 94 years, 11 months and 26 days. John grew up in Roger Mills County, where he attended school at Welcome, Square Top and Strong City. He was married to Lucille F. Smith at Strong City, Oklahoma on December 19, 1926. They lived in the Strong City Community where he farmed and ranched. In 1972, they moved to Cheyenne to make their home. He will be missed for his honesty, integrity, wisdom and his love of his children. He was a member of the Strong City Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister Ivy Calvert, 1 brother Vernon Little and 1 grandson Steven Little. He is survived by his wife, Lucille F. of the home; 4 sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Naida Little of Thomas, OK, J.W. and Barbara Little and Murl and Marie Little all of Cheyenne, OK, Lloyd Lee and Linda Little of Oklahoma City, OK; 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held at the Cheyenne First Baptist Church, Saturday, August 19, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. officating was Aubrey Cowan. Interment in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under direction of Whinery Funeral Service, Cheyenne.
Casket Bearers were: Chad Little, Doug Little, Rodney Unruh, Rowdy Little, Terry Little, Wayne Little.
Services were held at the Cheyenne First Baptist Church, Saturday, August 19, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. officating was Aubrey Cowan. Interment in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under direction of Whinery Funeral Service, Cheyenne.
