Dora Emma Mayfield, 80, was born on January 22, 1907 in Granite, Oklahoma and passed away Friday, April 3, 1987 in the Roger Mills Memorial Hosptial of Cheyenne.
Dora, the daughter of Clifton and Rutha Amanda Evans, married Joseph William (Bill) Mayfield on Sept. 1, 1932 in Sayre, Okla. They lived for a short while in Texas, New Mexico, Calif; and Reydon, Okla. before moving to Cheyenne in 1935 to make their home. She was a member of the Cheyenne First Baptist Church.
Those who preceded her in death were her parents, her husband, 1 sister and 1 brother.
Survivors include: 1 daughter, Ollie Ruth Williams of Lamont, Calif., 5 sons: Ralph Durward of Cheyenne, Okla., Albert Ewing and Clifton Joseph, both of Tucumcari, NM, Robert William of Mobeetie, TX and Kenneth Neil of Arnett, Okla., 18 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 sisters; Pauline Topping of Mira Lona, Calif., Cora Morton of Glen Avon, Calif. and Inza Archer of Cheyenne, Okla., a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 6, 1987 at 11 s.m. in the First Baptist Church of Cheyenne with A.L. Martin officiating.
Interment followed in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne.
Active Pallbearers were: Mike Crandall, Tommy Crandall, Arthur Trammell, Joe Whitson, James Hunter and Jesse Whitson.
Honorary Pallbearers were: Floyd Whitson and Bill Bradley.
