She was born in Renovo, PA to the late Leroy Daniel and Sarah Ethel (Barbour) Saltsman and was the wife of the late William F. Jones, who died in 1999.
Ann was a member of the Mellingers Lutheran Church, Stevens, where she was a Bible and Sunday School teacher. She was also a former Girl Scout leader. In her early years, she was a member of the Denver Women's Club and enjoyed knitting, reading, and playing board games.
A graduate of Renovo High School, she worked as an administrative assistant for the Samuel Swartz Nationwide Insurance Agency, Denver until her retirement in 1982.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Jean E. "Jeane" Jones, at home; sisters, Dortha M. Peters of Elkton, MD and Grace E., wife of William Gullborg of McMurray; a brother-in-law, Creon A. Aungst of Bristol; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Marie Aungst.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2012, 3:00 p.m. at the Mellingers Lutheran Church, 80 Gockley Road, Stevens, with Reverend Timothy L. Craven officiating. Family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. Interment will take place in the Mellingers Union Cemetery.
