He was the son of the late Leslie Stone Wells and Elsie Elizabeth Aaron Wells. He was also predeceased by a sister Gladys Hubbard.
He was are retired from the Sunshine Buscuit Company. After retirement, he assisted customers at Long John Silver's restaurant.
He was a World War II veteran.
He is survived by his wife Gertrude Laney Wells, two sons Gerald Wells and his wife Donna Wells and Dennis Wells, all of Chesapeake, two brothers Robert Wells of Martinsville, VA and Ryland Wells of Ridgeway, VA, four grandchildren Erik Wells, Lori-Ann Wells and Clara Wells, all of Chesapeake and Amber Baker of Watertown, NY and two great grandchilden Damien Baker and Jordan Baker of Watertown.
Funeral services were conducted at Parkway Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Reverend Ernest Trueblood officiating.
Interment followed at Rosewood Memorial Park in Virginia Beach, VA.
Oman Furnal Home in Great Bridge, VA served the family.
