Alois J. (Al) Rohl, Sr., of 4407 County Highway CR, Manitowoc, died Tuesday, January 6, 1998 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center. Al's wish was to have cremation take place with no services to follow and burial of his cremains will take place at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Maple Grove.
He was born in Manitowoc, son of the late William and Emma Tadych Rohl. He served in the United States Army as a mechanic in the motor pool. Al enjoyed his garden, from which he canned many vegetables. He also enjoyed hunting,
building lawn furniture, and his companionship with his three special pets, Red, Spot and Bear. Al was also known for his cooking. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #619.
Al is survived by his wife of 35 years, Eunice (Mancoske) Rohl, Manitowoc; their three children, Rick Rohl, Cynthia (Patrick) Knox and Cheryl (Michael) Streich, all of Manitowoc. He is further survived by four other children,
Lydia, Thelma, Rosemary and Alois Jr.; nine sisters, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Other relative and friends also survive. Besides his parents, Al was preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law; one brother and three sisters.
In lieu of flowers, Mass Memorials may be made to the church of the donor's choice. The Jens Funeral Home and Crematory, Manitowoc, assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
