Funeral services for former Victoria resident Jimmy Pearson Sr., 74, of Texas City, who died Friday in a Galveston hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. L. B. Elliott officiating.
Walk-in visitation will be held at Barefield Funeral Home from 2-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Burial will follow the services in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Barefield Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Lawrence Coleman, Willie Davis Jr., Issac Jefferson, Loyal Johnson, Eric Lott, Curtis Pearson, Abner James, James Brock and Johnnie Davis.
Born April 3, 1912, in Grove, La.; Mr. Pearson had been a retired laborer. He had resided in Galveston County for the past 12 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Betty Pearson Brock and Mrs. Elsray Elliott of Victoria; a son, Jimmy Pearson Jr. of Victoria; two sisters, Mrs. Geneva Jackson of Monroe, La., Mrs. Lillian Staten of Compton, Calif.; two brothers, Payton Pierce of Oakland, Calif., L. C. Pierce of Milwaukee, Wis.; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
