Susan Carr, a photographer, died on Sept. 3, in Chicago after a seventeen-month battle with cancer. Susan Margaret Carr was born on April 5, 1963, in West Lafayette, to Louis and Margaret Carr. She graduated from West Lafayette High School in 1981 and from Western Michigan University in 1985.

With business partner Gary Cialdella, she ran Carr Cialdella Photography for twenty-five years. Carr served as Education Director for the American Society of Media Photographers and wrote The Art and Business of Photography (2011).

Susan was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret, and is survived by her father, Louis (Marge), of West Lafayette, sister Bonnie Niemann, of Fort Wayne, brother George (Susan), of Chicago, five nieces and nephews, friend Nancy Marttila, of Kalamazoo, Mich., and devoted dog, Maggie.
