Annie Narcissus Cutbirth Breeding

  • Birth 15 Dec 1888 Bosque County, Texas, USA
  • Death 21 Feb 1944 Monahans, Ward County, Texas, USA
  • Burial Monahans, Ward County, Texas, USA
  • Memorial ID 96545824

Born to Benjamin Franklin and Sarah Jane Cutbirth, Annie was the wife and widow of Charles Alexander Breeding, whom she gave seven children after their June 19th, 1906 Roswell, New Mexico marriage:

• Stillborn, unnamed daughter
• Velma Mae Breeding Rodgers
• David Benjamin Breeding
• Jack Dawson Breeding
• Roy Lee Breeding
• Charles Otho "Chunk" Breeding
• Earl Franklin "Fudd" Breeding

Beloved mother and grandmother.

Note to family researchers: official records say Annie's middle name was "Narcissa" and because her maternal grandmother's name was also erroneously recorded as "Narcissa" it isn't difficult to go along with the official records. However, when asked how to spell her mother's name, Velma replied, "Narcissus, just like the flower."

Velma was so adamant about Annie's name that whenever she spoke of her mother she would always use the full name: "Annie Narcissus Cutbirth Breeding," so we wouldn't forget it. WE DID NOT FORGET.
