Robert Allen is the son of Robert Allen & Julia (Weber/Webber) Jennings.
He married Elizabeth White in 1881. Together they had 3 children.
Went to Musical Institute at Marion in Indiana Co. and is noted as one of their "progressive teachers" in 1889.
In 1900, they are living in Indiana Co., PA and in "Indiana Weekly Messenger" dated Jan 21, 1903, mentions that the family moved to Pittsburgh last week where he will be the music instructor for several churches.
1904 finds Pittsburgh in a bit of revival. On one Sunday it is noted that 2,300 conversions were made at 40 different meetings, R. A. was in Sharpsburg.
He did many tent revivals locally and out of state as well .

He was associated with the Gypsy Smith for several to many years.
