Henry Clay Babcock
The death of Henry Clay Babcock, an aged and highly respected resident of Fly Creek, occurred at his home in that village at 1 :30 o'clock Friday morning of last week. He had been ill for about six weeks. Death was ascribed to heart trouble.
Mr. Babcock was the son of Almond and Olive (Hinds) Babcock, and was born in the town of Exeter, May 26, 1843. He w;as a carpenter by trade and for over sixty years had lived in Fly Creek where a wide circle of friends will feel a deep sense of regret at his passing. During the past two years his nephew, Earl Babcock, and Mrs. Babcock had resided with him and given him devoted care.
Mr. Babcock was thrice married, his last wife, who was the former Miss Etta Downs of Schuyler Lake, died about two and a half years ago. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Emma Turner of. Mohawk, together with a niece, Mrs. Leon Eckert of Burlington Flats, and five nephews, Arthur Turner of Mohawk, Earl Babcock of Fly Creek, Lynn,- Warnc and Vere Babcock of Exeter.
The funeral was held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home, the Rev. Wilbur C, Dodge, pastor of the Methodist church officiating and burial was made in the family plot in the Flv Creek cemetery.

Henry C. Babcock of Flycreek and Etta D. Hooker of that place were united in marriage at the home of the bride, Sunday afternoon, November 12th at 3:30 o'clock. The wedding was performed by the Rev. Charles Kramer of Cooperstown, pastor of the Universalist church, of which both bride and groom are active and devoted members. .....
