SAWYER -- Ruth Parren, 96, of 6328 Sawyer Road, died at 6 a.m. Sunday in Lake Bluff Nursing Center, Lake Bluff, Ill. Mrs. Parren had owned and operated Fair View Stock Farm with her husband. She was born Nov. 25, 1896, in New Troy, and was a lifelong area resident. On Oct. 4, 1915, she married Joseph Parren. He died Jan. 11, 1970. Surviving are four daughters, Nerma Pearson of Fort Myers, Fla., Pearl Wennerberg of Oak Grove Village, III., Vema Fisher of Albuquerque, N.M., and Meryl Cornwell of Eagle River, Wis.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Forest Briggs of Three Oaks. Mrs. Parren was a member of Christian United Church of Christ and Merrie Monday Quilting Club.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Chikaming Township. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Boyd Funeral Home, Bridgman.
