Dr. Hoffman was a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College in 1942, as well as Princeton University. He became a noted world renowned scientist who worked on developing the atomic bomb in the "Manhattan Project", and developed the "Hoffman Theory" while at the National Bureau of Standards. John received the U.S. Army Soldiers Medal for "heroism" for rescuing three men following an accident during work on the Manhattan Project.
