Funeral services for J. L. (Jess) Johnson Sr., 74, of 403 Crane St., who died Saturday afternoon in a Rome hospital, were held at 2 p.m. today in the Hollywood Baptist Church with the Revs. Ralph Dingler, Glenn Boatner and Russell Head officiating. Interment was in Floyd Memory Gardens.
Mr. Johnson was born in Floyd County, Sept. 17, 1890, son of the late John and Elizabeth Lunston Johnson. He had spent his entire life in Rome and Floyd County. He was a retired employee of the Pepperell Mfg. Co. and a member of the Hollywood Baptist Church of which he was a charter deacon.
The Henderson-Frazier Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
