Yolanda Diane Link Jefferson, 49, was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday (May 5, 2009) at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown

She was born Oct. 1, 1959, to Mr. Audrey and Patricia Link of Fairmont.

Yolanda attended Marion County schools, several military schools and later graduated from Reid Ross High School in Fayetteville, N.C.

She was a graduate of Webster College of Fairmont as a certified nursing assistant.

She was previously employed by Fairmont Field Club and The Arbors of Fairmont and was currently employed by the Mountain State Dermatology Center in Bridgeport. She was also a member of Ruth Chapter 37 of the Eastern Star.

She was married for 29 years to Rudolph Jefferson of Fairmont. To this union they were blessed with three children.

Yolanda accepted Christ at an early age and was an active member of the Morning Star Baptist Church where she was instrumental in the implementation of the nursery center. She was a past member of the choir and the senior usher board and was always willing to assist in whatever capacity.

She enjoyed her grandchildren, needlepoint, crocheting, shopping and she was an avid reader.

Yolanda leaves to cherish her memories her parents, Audrey and Patricia Link of Fairmont; one daughter, Ebony Jefferson of Fairmont; two sons, Rudolph (Jeanette) Jefferson of Bridgeport and Antone Jefferson of Fairmont; two sisters, Yvette (Andrew) Turner of Dayton, Ohio and Yvonne (Darryl) Beaird of Fairmont; former husband, Rudolph Jefferson of Fairmont; several aunts and uncles, including Mrs. Oreatha Foster of Fairmont and Mrs. Rose Goodlow of Detroit, Mich.; 17 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Brazz and Ernestine Evans; her paternal grandparents, Mr. Lieutenant Merchant and Mrs. Muzette Link; two brothers, Brazz Evans and Robert Bell; and three grandchildren, Jazmine, Antone Jr. and Tyson.

Friends may call at Morning Star Baptist Church from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Wesley Dobbs officiating. Burial will follow Grandview Memorial Gardens.

Audrey Lee Link, 70, of Fairmont, died Sunday (June 5, 2011) at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

He was born Dec. 23, 1940, in Rivesville, the son of the late Lt. Merchant and Dorothy Link.

He was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church. He was retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of service and received several medals of honor. He also was retired from Fairmont State College, where he was chef for 10 years. In addition, he was a past Master of Meridian Lodge 17. Audrey loved to play golf and fish.

He is survived by his loving wife of more than 50 years, Patricia A. Evans Link; two daughters, Yvatte (Andrew) Turner of Dayton, Ohio, and Yvonne (Darryl) Beaird of Fairmont; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; four brothers, Alfred (Beverly) Link of New York, N.Y., Gene (Patricia) Link of Tucson, Ariz., Thomas Link of Fairmont, and Stephon Glenn of Washington, D.C.; three sisters, Pauline Williams, and Shirley Merchant and her husband Charles Snipes, all of Fairmont, and Rita Townes of Columbus, Ohio; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Yolanda Jefferson; one sister, Oretha Foster; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends and family may call at Morning Star Baptist Church, 100 McKinney St., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Home-going services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Wesley Q. Dobbs officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens. The Marion County Veterans Council will perform full military rites at graveside.
