From the January 10, 1924 Skidmore News, page 1:
"Richard M. Logan, 72 years old, an old resident of Nodaway county, died at 4:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon, January 6, 1924, at the St. Francis Hospital following a week's illness of pneumonia. He was admitted to the hospital a week ago Sunday evening. The body was removed to the home, three miles east of Quitman Monday. Funeral services were held at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning at the Christian church in Quitman, conducted by the Rev. Alex Holt of Maryville. Burial was in the I. O. O. F. cemetery at Quitman.

Mr. Logan was born in Boone County, Mo. He had lived near Quitman most of his life. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ada Logan, and five children, Mrs. Phoebe Linville, of Skidmore; Mrs. Tillie Hornbuckle of Clearmont; Will Logan of Graham; Fred Logan of Quitman and Miss Millie Logan at home. Another daughter, Mrs. Elza Bodle of Skidmore, died November 20, 1923. Three brothers, Hiram Logan, of Burlington Junction, Joe Logan of St. Joseph and Will Logan of Kakin, Kans. Mr. Logan was an uncle of the Logan Brothers of Skidmore."
