Businessman. He founded the "A.B. Dick Company" in 1884, and expanded it from a limber company to one of the largest and most successful copy machines and office supply manufacturers of the 20th Century. The firm existed until 2004, when it filed for bankruptcy. He coined the phrase "mimeograph" to describe his stencil duplication office machine.
