FORMER CLAY COUNTY SHERIFF DIES:
Funeral services for Raymond W. Bray, 71, of Henrietta, former Clay County sheriff, were conducted at 2 pm Friday, July 29, at Davis Funeral Home Chapel, Henrietta, with Rev. Buzz Timmons, pastor of Vashti Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial was in Hope Cemetery, Henrietta, under direction of the Henrietta funeral home.
Pallbearers included Conner Fletcher, J.T. Lyles, James Browning, J.A. Cunningham, Dr. W.E. Crump, Jeff Fitts, Jack Brown and Melvin Campbell.
Mr. Bray died Wednesday, July 27, at Clay County Memorial Hospital, Henrietta.
He was born May 1, 1912, at Gibtown, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. R.W.(Eloisa Franklin) Bray. He married the former Addie Haberman on Oct. 17, 1931, at Walters, Okla. He was a rancher and had lived in Henrietta since 1921. He served as Clay county sheriff from 1947 to 1948 and was deputy sheriff for several years afterwards.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Addie Bray of Henrietta; one son, Kenneth Bray of Henrietta; one daughter, Carma Healer of Bellevue; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Horton and Mrs. Ilene Kafer, both of Wichita Falls; and five grandchildren.
