Arno C. Bastian, 72, of 207 Trier St., Brillion, died Tuesday evening at a Green Bay nursing home after a lingering illness.
He was born Jan. 13, 1902, in the Town of Brillion, a son of the late Ernst and Ida Zick Bastian. On Dec. 6, 1927 he married Mildred Bell at Brillion.
He farmed and worked for the Brillion Iron Works until retiring 11 years ago when he moved to Brillion. He was a member of Rural United Methodist Church.
Survivors are his widow; two sons, William of Mukwonago and Keith of Chippewa Falls; five grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Walter Schnell of Marinette, Mrs. Elmer Schnell of Green Bay, Mrs. Nelson Wolfmeyer of East Troy, Mrs. Donald O'Connor of Milwaukee, and two brothers, Edward of Peshtigo and Lawrence of R. 2, Brillion. A daughter preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Wieting Funeral Home, Brillion, the Rev. Fred MacKenzie and the Rev. Calmer Overlien officiating. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday until the time of services Saturday.
