"DEATH COMES TO MRS. J. A. COUCH"

PARALYSIS IS FATAL TO WELL KNOWN RESIDENT.

Passed Away at Her Home on Commercial Avenue Sunday Afternoon - Funeral Tuesday.

Mrs. J.A. Couch, widow of Joe Couch, who died about two years ago, died at her home on Commercial Street Sunday afternoon at 3:15(?) o'clock. Her death was due to a stroke of paralysis. The funeral will be held from home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Warren P. Clark of the First Baptist church conducting the services. Interment will be in Edgewood cemetery.

The deceased had been a resident of Chillicothe for a number of years. She was 70 years old.

One daughter Mrs. Peter (Ida Mae) Woods, and six sons survive, J.W. (John William), P.A. (Parker Allen), C.A. (Clarence Arthur), A.P. (Albert Patterson)), J.L. (James Luther) and J.E. (Joseph Ellis)."

Elizabeth was first married to Joel's brother Jacob Harmon ("Jake") Couch, who was fatally shot by a Constable John Belville in the Cross Keys Saloon near Florissant, Missouri in St. Louis County in June of 1867. She subsequently married Jake's brother Joel.
