He is survived by his former wife, Delores Yagley (Sacramento, CA); children Deborah (Gary) Boardman of Cordova, TN, Robert Yagley Jr (Ivonne) of Endicott, NY and William D. Yagley of Sacramento, CA.
Robert served in the Air Corp and graduated from University of Detroit, Bach Chem Eng. (1949). He worked at Michigan Rustproof Company and Detroit Michigan Stove Company. In 1957, he became General Manager of Manufacturing Operation, Garland (Division of Welbilt Corp) and moved his family to Long Island, New York. In 1967, he became Vice President of South Bend Range (South Bend, Indiana). In 1973, he became President of Garland Commercial Industries (Freeland, Pennsylvania); he was a private consultant (1979-81) and then worked for Vulcan-Hart (Louisville, Kentucky) before retiring in 1984. Throughout the active years, he was involved with various groups associated with the commercial cooking equipment industry, local Chamber of Commerce, various neighborhood civic associations, the Knights of Columbus and was a volunteer teacher for a program in reading for illiterates. In recent years, he was a volunteer for the University of Kentucky Alzheimer Research Group for 17 years.
Throughout his life, he was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles; he enjoyed traveling and being with his family. He will be greatly missed.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10AM on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at San Antonio Catholic Church, Port Charlotte, Florida. The mass will be held by Father Jacobi. Ashes will be interred at Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Port Charlotte, Florida immediately after Mass. Memorial donations may be made to University of Kentucky Alzheimer Research project.
