Rites for Mrs. Mary Isabell Harmison, 85, widow of Elijah Stephen Harmison, who died at 1:20 p.m. Sunday at her home at 310 W. 9th St., following an extended illness, will be conducted at the Meeks mortuary. The Reverend Charles E. Watkins and the Reverend Harry Dowling will be in charge, and burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Harmison was born in Carroll County, Ind., and came from Peru to Muncie 46 years ago. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, War Mothers, Ladies of the G.A.R., Rebekah and Pocahontas lodges.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Georgia Hughs and Mrs. Ruby Jones; a son, Lionel L. Harmison; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Four of her great-grandchildren are serving in the armed forces: Cpl Marjorie Wingate, WAC, Fort Meyer, VA; T/5 Floyd E. McCune, with the Army in India; Jack W. Friend, pharmacist's mate, second class, now on furlough from service in the Aleutians, and Richard Barr, pharmacist's mate, second class, now in New Caledonia. Friends may call at the mortuary after Tuesday noon.
