Walter Louis Hahn of Coupland, Tx, formerly of Mason, Tx, died on September 1, 2012. He was born in Mason, Texas on October 2, 1955 to Marjorie (Holder) Hahn and Marvin Hahn, Sr. Walter graduated from Mason High School in 1974. He was an outstanding athlete and was an All State football player. He attended Angelo State University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business and later obtained a teaching certificate.

He married Dorothy Burney on May 12, 1990 in Mason, Texas. Together they raised Dorothy's three daughters. Walter earned a badge of courage for marrying a woman with three girls. You would never know that his daughters were not biologically his own.

Walter was involved in many community and church activities in Coupland. He was a member of St. Peter's Church of Coupland and former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mason, where he was baptized, confirmed, and married.

Walter will be remembered as a gentle giant who had an immense love of others, had outstanding barbecuing and sausage making skills, and had a sweet spirit.

Survivors include: wife, Dorothy Hahn of Coupland; daughter Amanda Boring, and son-in-law Ray, grandson Hance, and granddaughter Tanner, all of Austin; daughter Candace Johnson and son-in- law Bradley, granddaughter Chelsi, and grandson Carter, all of Lampasas; daughter Elaine Brewer of Warner Robins, Georgia; sister Margaret Leifeste and husband Fritz of San Angelo; sister Carolyn Schroeder of College Station; and a brother Marvin Hahn and wife Mae Dean of Temple. He leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews. Pallbearers are Ken Schroeder, Ben Landry, Stoney Hariman, Chris Marquart, Jared Hahn, Ray Boring, Bradley Johnson, and Shane Meadows.

Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor TX. Celebration of Life Services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at St. Peter's Church of Coupland. Burial will follow at Long Mountain Cemetery near Mason at 4:00 P.M.

The family requests memorials be given to the Coupland St. Peter's Church kitchen renovation fund or cemetery fund.
