Grace E. Wells, 78, formerly of Arch Street, Dellroy, Ohio, died July 4 in Morning View Care Center at New Philadelphia after an extended illness. Born Nov 4, 1916, at Harrison Township, Carroll County, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary Ann (Pretty) Taylor. She was a member of the Dellroy Christ Community Church and the Dellroy American Legion Auxiliary. She retired in 1977 from the Carrollton Exempted Schools cafeteria staff at Dellroy.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Shirley Wells of New Philadelphia; three grandchildren, Marnie Lanzer of Carbondale, Illinois, Leslie Garrison of Columbus and Jennifer Glass of Streetsboro; and three great-grandchildren, Erica, Alexander and Jacob Lanzer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard K. Wells, whom she married in January of 1941, and who died April 26, 1990. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a brother, William Taylor and a sister, Marie Negutt. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home at Carrollton with Rev. William Estes officiating. Burial will be in Baxter's Ridge Cemetery.
