Anna Marie Olson Backstrom, 86, of Wood Street, West Newton (Collinsburg), died Sunday, Oct. 17, 1993, at home. She was born May 24, 1907, in West Newton, a daughter of the late Alex and Susanna Sprinz Olson. She was Catholic by faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor G. Backstrom; and a brother, Alex Olson.
Surviving are two sons, Marvin and Brent Backstrom, both of West Newton; a daughter, Walda Teslovich of Virginia; two sisters, Julia Tomko and Ethel Similo, both of West Newton; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the RICHARD F. DODSON FUNERAL HOME, 213 Main St., West Newton, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Services will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Father Robert Brannon officiating.
Interment will follow in the West Newton Cemetery.
