He entered the service from his home state of Illinois.
He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.

He was the son of Arthur W. Duncan and Elizabeth Wilson Duncan.
On January 8, 1944 as Malcolm W. Duncan, he married Merikay Howard at Winnetka Christ Church at Winnetka, Cook County, Illinois.
They had no children.

The death of 1st Lieut. Malcolm Whitlock Duncan, 27 an officer in the armored forces who was killed in action in France on August 11 was announced yesterday by his mother, Mrs. Arthur W. Duncan, 1170 Scott Street, Winnetka. He also is survived by his widow, Mrs. Merikay Howard Duncan, whom he married January 8 and a brother, Arthur W. Duncan, Jr. Lieut. Duncan, who was inducted June 19, 1941 was commissioned at Fort Knox, Kentucky in September 1942.
