Sylvia Benson, born on August 8, 1916 in Puxico, MO, passed away in Sacramento, CA on March 26, 2005 at the age of 88. Her main goal in life was being a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling, and was a member of the Citrus Heights Kitchen Band and President of Emerald Lodge, LS to the B of LF and E in 1961. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett A. Benson and her son, James Everett. Sylvia is survived by her daughters, Wanda Louise Lynch of Sacramento, Wilma Benson of Vacaville and Carolyn Winters of Woodland; sisters, Dorothy Roberts of Puxico, MO and Juanita Louise Ragsdale of Dexter, MO; brother Peter Welsch of Willows, CA; five grandchildren, Bradley Friesen of Trabuco, Canyon CA; Jodi Wimmer of Folsom; W. David Murray of Placerville; Tamara Guerrero of Vacaville and Jeffrey Murray of Placerville; 11 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Committal services were conducted on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at 1 PM in the afternoon at Sylvan District Cemetery, in Citrus Heights. In lieu of the usual remembrances, the family suggests contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Aid Society of Northern California, 1-800-540-3340.
