Highland Recorder May 29, 1953

Mrs Mary Armstrong, 80, wife of G.W. Armstrong, died Sunday May 24 in the Community House. She had suffered a broken hip and was a patient at the hospital for about a month. Her home was at Trimble. Mrs. Armstrong, formerly a Miss McNett was twice married, her first husband Collingwood Dickson, dying a number of years ago. Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Roy Dickson of Jacksonville, Fla. and Kenneth S. Dickson, of Bolar, Va. and several grandchildren. One daughter Mrs Charles Swadley and two sons William and Robert Dickson preceded her in death. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at Hamilton Chapel by Rev. A.O. Turnbow. Burial was in Hamilton cemetery.

Mrs. Geo. W. Armstrong of Trimble, Gold Star Mother of World War I attended Memorial Day observance here, May 30th. She reports her grandsons who are in the Armed Forces as doing real well at this time.
