Mrs. Sarh Francis Greer, member of a prominent pioneer family here, died in her sleep last night at the home of her son, DeWitt Greer. She would have been 83 years of age on April 27. Mr. and Mrs. F.R. Greer were married 64 years. They came to Poplar Bluff in 1877 and had made their home here since. Mr. Greer, until age required his retirement, was a building contractor. Mrs. Greer was born in Mayfield, Kentucky, April 17, 1860, was the mother of five children, three of them surviving. They are Mrs. Blanche Sappington of Poplar Bluff, Mrs. Esther Richardson of Hollywood, CA and DeWitt Greer. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday with burial in the City Cemetery.
