She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church of Benton, KY
She is survived by her husband, James Michael Merritt of Union City, TN; her mother, Doris Puckett Burkeen of Calvert City, KY; brother, Johnny Burkeen of Paducah, KY; sister, Michelle Norris of Dawson Springs, KY; niece and nephews, Curtis Merritt, Dakota Merritt, Jonathan Powell and Rady Burkeen.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Burkeen and maternal grandparents, Rady and Elwanda Vasseur Puckett.
Services: Funeral services will be at 1:00PM Monday, September 3, 2012 at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home and Crematory. Rev. Brad White will officiate and burial will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery.
