Ksenia Boiwka (nee Suchok), 91, of Sheffield Village, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph, Lorain following a lengthy illness. She was born August 19, 1921 in Rossochi, Ukraine. She lived in Klumbach, Germany for eight years prior to immigrating to Lake Providence, Louisiana, and in 1950 moved to Lorain, Ohio.

Ksenia was primarily a homemaker, who on occasion pursued part-time employment. She was a member of St. Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Lorain. She sang in her church's choir and was an active member in its sisterhood. She enjoyed gardening and was extremely proficient in cooking and baking Ukrainian specialties. Mrs. Boiwka also was highly regarded for her sewing and Ukrainian embroidery skills.

She will be deeply missed by her sons Stephan (Beverly) Boiwka of Brownhelm Township; Roman (Judy) Boiwka, of Amherst and her grandchildren Michael, Larissa, Alex and Ellesse.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Michael Boiwka; her parents Ostop Suchok and Olana (née Panasiuk) Suchok; brothers Pavlo, Hryhori, and Petro and sisters Marika, Nadia and Vera.

Funeral service will be Friday at noon at the funeral home. The Very Rev. Father Dennis Kristof, pastor of St. Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Lorain will officiate. Burial will follow at the Brownhelm Township Cemetery.
