Joseph Adams Dies Tuesday In Michiagan

GLOUSTER--Joseph Adams, 88, of Hollister died Tuesday evening at General Hospital, Pontiac, MI, after a short illness.

Born in England in 1869, Mr. Adams came here as a child and spent the rest of his life in this area. He was a retired coal miner.

He is survived by two brothers, John of Glouster and Henry of Toledo and several grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna; two sons, Leonard and Dan, and a daughter, Mrs. Earl Newland.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Wiley funeral home with the Rev. Dale Toplight officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Wiley funeral home after noon Thursday.

Joseph immigrated to the US in 1881. He and Anna married on May 25, 1869 in Athens County, Ohio.

The 1900 Census in Trimble, shows that Joseph and Anna had three children; Sarah (b. 16 Aug 1891 in Trimble Township), Leonard (b. 30 April 1898 in Hollister), and Daniel (b. 23 Sept. 1899 in Hollister).
