Lex Ray Bankhead was born March 30, 1956, to William "Ray" Bankhead and Janeil Hovey Bankhead, in Logan, Utah.

He spent is childhood in Wellsville, Utah working on the family dairy. He and his brothers spent hours learning everything there was to know about dairy cows and all the details that go with them. This started a life long pattern for Lex. After graduating from Skyview High School and earning his Eagle Scout; he served a faithful mission for the LDS church to Alberta, Canada.

Shortly after that he ventured to Idaho and met his sweetheart, Clareen Dickerson. They were married in the Ogden Temple Oct. 21, 1977. During their life together they had four beautiful daughters: Stephanie, Jessica, Rachel and Michelle.

He started his own hoof trimming business and became known up and down Cache Valley, where he resided, as a Bovine Pedicurist. He was very successful and gained a reputation for being one of the best in the business and able to cure all manner of a hoof problems. After selling his business he and his family went back to Idaho where he worked on a 10,000 cow dairy as their hoof specialist.

In the years that followed his three older daughters grew and found sweethearts of their own, blessing him with seven delightful grandchildren. His youngest was still daddy's girl, but waiting for her own missionary.

He and Clareen spent some time in Roberts, ID, but after his first stroke they moved to Rexburg where they were residing when Heavenly Father called him home on Aug. 28, 2012.

He will be greatly missed by those he left behind, which include: his wife of 35 years, Clareen Dickerson Bankhead; daughters: Stephanie (Michael) Francis and their children, Linzy, Rolla, Dillon and Steven; Jessica Bankhead and her children, Shaylee and Damian; Rachel (Christopher) Grubbs and their child, Aurora; and Michelle; his father, Ray Bankhead; and his brothers: Kent and Keven.
