Mrs. John Bauer was called to a better world. It was a shock to all of us to hear of her sudden demise, as she was sick but four days. Dr. Lindsey of Florence attended her and according to his statement she was without fever of any kind last Saturday; suffering only from a very depressing weakness. She died suddenly Monday morning at 8:00 o'clock, in the arms of her nurse, Miss Cecilia Rogers of Tuscumbia. The funeral took place last Wednesday morning at 8:30 o'clock, High mass was sung for the repose of her soul at St. Michael's church, and the interment took place in the local cemetery, Rev. Father Alphonse, O. S. B., officiating, Mrs. Bauer was horn at Rich Fountain, Missouri, on the 28th of November, 1848, She spent most of her life in the states of Kansas and Missouri.
