Born in Germany, Fred was the son of the late Bertold and Elizabeth Jacobi. He was a resident of the Stroudsburg area for the past 12 years. Prior to that, he lived in Philadelphia, moving to the United States in 1937 from Germany.
While in Germany, he worked as a lawyer and in the United States, he worked with the Holocaust Victims doing restoration work.
He was of the Jewish faith.
Fred is survived by his wife, Justine; a daughter, Rikki Brodman and her husband, Bruce of Stroudsburg; and three grandsons: Brandon of East Orange, N.J., Andrew of Cherry Hill, N.J. and Todd of Spring City.
