People of Seymour were sorrowed at the untimely death of Mrs. James M. Bailes who had been sick for some time. Services were held at the Baptist Church with Rev. O.E. Carter, pastor, officiating. The ladies of the Woodmen Circle of which Mrs. Bailes was a member were at the graveside.

The death of Mrs. Bailes brought sadness to Seymour. She was young and healthy. A family looked to her for comfort, love, companionship, car and her going home left a home desolate. She possessed all the womanly qualities that could be desired in a wife, she had a disposition that endeared her to all who knew her. A member and consistent worker in the Baptist Church, the life cut short will live on as an influence for good in the place she left.

Mrs. Bailey moved to Seymour, Texas in 1907 with her mother from Hunt County, Texas.

Survived by her husband; his daughter - Miss Laura Bailes and three children, a little girl, Johnnie, 8 years, Wallace, 9 years and a babe of six months; her mother; six sisters; three brothers.
