Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, March 28, in the Baker Funeral
Home at Danville for Mrs. Ella Davis, age 94 years. Rev. Dwight Gamble of
North Salem and Rev. Martin W. Cook had charge of the services. Burial was
in Fairview Cemetery. She died last Thursday evening in the Hendricks
County Hospital where she had been a patient six days.

A native of Union Township, she was born Sept. 7, 1870, the daughter of the
late James M. and Elizabeth Hamilton Leach. She was married to the late
Thomas Davis, who died Feb. 2, 1951. The deceased was a North Salem
resident practically all her life. She was a member of the North Salem
Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, there, where she
recently received her 50-year membership pin. She moved to Danville in May
of 1956 to be near her daughter, the late Mamie Schwartz, who died the
following year. She continued to make her home at 963 West Clinton Street,
Danville, until this past year when she was taken to the Golden Rule Nursing
Home due to her failing eye sight.

Her husband, Thomas Davis, Eel River Township farmer, and her daughter, Mrs.
Mamie Schwartz, are deceased
