Irene Reinhardt Wordell, 86, of Bethel Home, Oshkosh, died there Thursday, Nov. 6, 1986, after a lingering illness.
She was born March 2, 1900, in the town of Newton, Manitowoc County, a daughter of the late Emil and Johanna Schultz Reinhardt.
On Aug 22, 1925, she married Oliver Wordell in Brillion.
She attended Lawrence College and Manitowoc Business Collage, and organized the Brillion Girl Scouts in 1921. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years.
Mrs. Wordell was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Brillion; a charter member of the Brillion Woman’s Club for 50 years; and chairman of the Brillion Library Board for several years.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law; Arlice and Max Ashwell, Madison, Wisconsin; Louis and Duane Ashwell, Park Forest, Illinois; Wanda and Donald Young, Oshkosh; two sons and daughters-in-law; Carl and Marjie Wordell, Binghampton, New York; Donald and Doris Wordell, Sheboygan Falls, 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in March 1979 and a brother.
Funeral services were at Trinity Lutheran Church, Brillion, with the Rev. Harlyn Kuschel officiating. Burial was in Brillion Community Cemetery.
