Hilda Marth Kreuger Fischer of Towsley Village, Chelsea Retirement Community, Chelsea, Michigan, left her earthly life to join her Lord on January 25, 2001.
Hilda was born April 5, 1914, in the Town of Rockland, Manitowoc County, of the late Carl and Emma (Becker) Krueger. She married Roy H. Fischer on August 20, 1938 in Reedsville. She was a graduate of Reedsville High School, class of 1933. She also graduated from the Michael Reese Hospital Infants Nurse program in Chicago, and later trained as a dental assistant at the Chicago College of Dental Assistants.
She was a. faithful member of Faith United Methodist Church in Brillion, where she served as a member of the United Methodist Women and as a Sunday School teacher. She was a 4-H leader in Calumet County while her children were growing up. Following her husband's death in 1974, she gave three years of voluntary service as a dental assistant at the Red Bird Mission in Kentucky.
Survivors include four sons and their wives,
Theodore and Lea Fischer, Dexter, Michigan;
Richard and Marjory Fischer, Zagreb, Croatia;
Eric and Carolyn Fischer, Lena, Wisconsin;
Roy S. and Yolanda Fischer, Mesa, Arizona;
eight grandchildren, Tony, Ellen, David, Adam, Nadia, Timothy, Heidi and Caleb; three great-grandchildren, Blake, Trae and McCoy; sisters, Esther Krueger, Burbank, California; and Anita Rusch and her husband, Elmer, Reedsville;-sisters-in-law, Bernice Piepenberg, Brillion; and Carmen Fischer, Milwaukee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy H. Fischer; three brothers, Herbert, Leonard and Milan; three sisters, Lydia Haberman, Adelia Haberman and Amanda Kindschey; and a granddaughter, Jill.
Funeral services will be at Faith United Methodist Church, Brillion, Monday, January 29, 2001, at 11:30 a.m. Visitation hours at the church will be between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent to The Navigators or to Red Birds Mission by contributing to the Faith United Methodist Church in the charity's name. Arrangements by Wieting Funeral Home, Brillion, Wisconsin.
