Obituary:
"James D. Brown was born Aug 25, 1865; died April 27, 1899. He professed religion
in August, 1883, joind the M. E. Church, South, Oct. 1885, and lived a consistent member till death. He was faithful in attendance upon the preached Word and Sunday School, and
was always ready to give to the spread of the Gospel of the means which God had given him.
Deceased was a son of A. J. and Nancy C. Brown, and was married to Miss Dortha Breece, Oct. 18, 1883. He leaves wife, five little children, father and mother, a brother and two sisters, and many friends, to mourn their loss.
Brother Jimmie has gone to his reward, to that place Jesus prepared for him, and his noble traits of character will live through all time. He was of jovial disposition; yet deeply pious and strictly temperate, and all who knew him were his friends.
Weep not, dear friends, for our dear, beloved brother, he is now resting with Jesus and the angels. "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord."
