Virginia L. Banks 76, of East Galesburg, Illinois passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg, Illinois.

Virginia was born October 25, 1935 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Ottes and Virginia Ruth (Cramer) Pruett.

She is survived by three daughters; Linda (Don) Campbell of Galesburg, Sherri Banks of East Galesburg, and Patricia Banks of Galesburg, two grandchildren, Shawna Campbell of Galesburg and Arthur Campbell of Galesburg. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren; Kirsten Chapman, Skyeler Chapman, and Cameron Chapman, one brother, Richard Pruett of Maquon, Illinois and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Virginia enjoyed genealogy and she was a proud member of the Knox County Genealogical Society. She also was an avid Abraham Lincoln enthusiast.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 12:00 PM at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville, Illinois. Rev. Milton Marquith will be officiating. Burial will take place at the Knoxville, Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday, September 1, 2012 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville.
