Death of Mrs. Frank Andel, Sr.
Mrs. Frank Andel, Sr., passed away at her home near Appleton, on Tuesday morning, March 25, after an illness of five days with pneumonia. Funeral services were held in St. Mary's Catholic church at Appleton on March 27. They were conducted by Rev. Father Cerny. The pallbearers were Frank Fredlick, Jr., John Kucera, Anton Pospichal, Frank Pospichal, William Pospichal and Anton Svoboda, Sr. Interment was in St. Mary's cemetery at Appleton. Mrs. Andel, who was in her 58th year at time of death, had lived in Butler county nearly all of her life. She was born in Stoupouesice, Czecho-Slovakia, February 8, 1869, and at the age of seven years came to this country. Apolina Kucera was her maiden name. She was united in marriage to Frank Andel at Abie October 19, 1888. Besides her husband, Mrs. Andel is survived by nine children, four daughters, Mrs. Pauline Liskovec, Mrs. Marie Sabata, Mrs. Agnes Janak and Emma Andel; five sons, Joseph, Frank, George, Charles and Anton. One daughter, Frances, died four years ago, at the age of 23 years. Mrs. Andel is survived also by her aged mother, one brother, one sister and ten grandchildren. She was a faithful member of the Catholic church since childhood, was a devoted wife and mother and through her kindness gained many friends. Among the many beautiful floral offerings was one from the teachers and pupils of District No. 19 school.
