Champaign-Urbana Ilinois News Gazette, December 29, 1995 Walter J. Paeth, Sr. 69, of 1504 Eastern Avenue, Urbana, died at 3:28 a.m. Thursday, December 28 at Covenant Medical Center, Urbana. Graveside services will be held at a later date in Bay City, Mich. Owens Funeral Home, Champaign, is handling arrangements.
He was born August 24, 1926, in Bay City, Michigan, a son of William and Mabel Paeth. He married Virginia Philbeck April 3, 1982 in Champaign. She survives. Other survivors include six sons, Danny Paeth of Trevor Wis., Eugene Paeth of Pesotum, Richard Paeth of Urbana, Walter Paeth Jr. of Tennessee, Patrick Paeth of Clarksville, Tenn. and Wayne Paeth of Norfolk, Va., 11 grandchildren: and two sisters, Margaret Summers of Oakland, Calif., and Betty Weber of Missoula, Mont. He was preceded in death by one grandson and two brothers.

The youngest , James was given up for adoption. That is why you didn’t know about him. Walterís second wife, Shirley May Ferguson, produced three boys, Richard, Eugene and Wayne, before she committed suicide. She was not mentioned in the obit, but Eugene gave me the name of his mother.
