MORGAN WILLIAM BIOGRAPHY BOOK - RICE COUNTY FAMILIES, 1981 William Morgan, son of James and Hannah (Cox) Morgan was born October 28, 1806 in Virginia. Shortly after his birth his family moved to Wayne County, Ohio. On June 19, 1828 he married Miss Anna Blachley, daughter of Dr. William and Sarah (Van Sickle) Blachley. Anna was born October 12, 1810. On February 11, 1830 a daughter, Anna, was born. Shortly after the birth of Anna, the mother died. Anna was brought up by Isaac and Sarah (Blachley) Morgan, brother and sister to William and Anna. William was remarried on February 2, 1832 in St. Joseph County, Indiana to Angeline Barrick, daughter of Isaac Barrick. Angeline was born October 16, 1816 in Virginia. Isaac Barrick owned land in Sec. 35, Cannon City Township in 1858. A year later Angeline and William had moved into Porter County, Indiana. William is said to be the first white man in what is now Washington Township. The Morgans moved on to Cedar County, Iowa around 1836. During the mid 1850's William moved his family again, this time to Richland Township, Rice County, MInnesota. William Morgan received the NE 1/4 of Section 4, Richland Township, Rice county from the United States Land Office in St. Peter, Minn. on Sept. 22, 1860. William Morgan's son, Isaac A., bought land in Richland Township as early as July 1856. He owned land in Sections four and five of Richland for many years. William and Angeline had eight children. Isaac, born July 10, 1833 in Porter County, Indiana married Mary Tarr, died April 13, 1912 in St. Paul, MInnesota; Ellenor, born April 25, 1835 in Porter County, Indiana, married John R. Blaylock in Iowa in 1852. Died April 26, 1909 in English River, Iowa; Sylvestor B., born July 10, 1837 in Cedar County, Iowa, married Adelaide Sweetland in 1864, died January 4, 1916 in Faribault, MInnesota; Susan, born around 1842 in Iowa; Minerva, born May 1, 1844 in Cedar County, Iowa, married Robert Davids in 1861, died November 18, 1884 most likely in Brule County, South Dakota; Charles, born around 1850 in Iowa; Angeline, born 1852 in Iowa. William Morgan died in October 1869 in Richland Township, MInnesota. His wife, Angeline, died May 3, 1909 in English River, Keokuk County, Iowa.
William Morgan was the son of James Morgan and Hannah Cox. He was born in Dunkard's Bottom, Monongalia Co, then Virginia now West Virginia. He was son of a Revolutionary War veteran. He has a few famous relatives. His date of death is also listed as Oct. 20, 1869.
He lived in Ohio and was married to Angela Blachly, in Wayne Co. Ohio on June 19, 1828. He later married Angeline Barrick on Feb 2, 1832 in St. Joseph Co., Indiana. They lived in Richland Twp, Rice Co., MN where he later passed away.
